El Nicho Waterfall, Natural waterfall in Topes de Collantes Nature Reserve, Cuba

The El Nicho waterfall system creates multiple cascades and natural pools with blue waters within the Sierra del Escambray mountain range.

The waterfall zone has remained a central feature of the Escambray Mountains, serving as a natural landmark between Cienfuegos and Trinidad since colonial times.

Local residents gather at El Nicho during weekends to swim in the pools while musicians perform traditional Cuban songs at the nearby restaurant.

Visitors can access the falls through a 1.5-kilometer marked trail that connects various observation points and swimming areas throughout the park.

The water temperature in the natural pools maintains a constant cool level throughout the year due to the mountain spring sources.
