Les Trois Fontaines

Les Trois Fontaines is a fountain complex with granite structures and Ionic pilasters on the eastern side of an enclosed area. A main building holds two basins and features niches that once held statues, while a smaller fountain to the south displays an undeciphered monogram.

The main structure dates to 1600, as shown by a partially legible inscription on the site. The complex developed as a water supply location and maintained its religious significance over centuries, with the statue-filled niches emphasizing its role as a pilgrimage destination.

The fountains connect to the legend of Saint Noyale, whose local story tells of three springs emerging from her martyrdom. Visitors can see how this tale shaped the site's name and the arrangement of its water sources.

The site features stone steps and retaining walls that make navigation straightforward. A washhouse located about 20 meters south of the main structure serves as a good reference point when exploring the grounds.

The southern fountain displays a mysterious monogram marked H.R.M. whose meaning remains unsolved to this day. These cryptic initials invite visitors to wonder and add an extra layer of mystery to the site.
