Long Cay
Long Cay is a small island near New Providence in the Bahamas with sandy beaches and rocky shores. The islet rises to approximately 13 meters and remains largely undeveloped with minimal vegetation covering its surface.
Small islands like Long Cay historically served as stopping points for sailing ships and fishing bases. The waters around the island have long been known for fishing and continue to attract local fishermen today.
The island is easily reached by small boat from Nassau in just a few minutes. There are no facilities or shops on the island, so bring water, snacks, and sun protection while making sure to remove all trash afterward.
The shallow waters around the island form a natural swimming pool teeming with marine life including small fish, crabs, and starfish. This underwater abundance makes snorkeling here particularly rewarding for visitors.
