The Bombay Presidency Golf Club, Historic golf club in Chembur, Mumbai, India
The Bombay Presidency Golf Club is a golf course in Chembur spanning approximately 90 acres with an 18-hole Par 70 layout. The grounds feature seven water hazards and 43 bunkers distributed throughout the course.
The club was founded in 1927, making it one of Mumbai's oldest golf facilities. In 2009, it underwent major redesign work based on the design principles of golf architect Peter Thompson.
The club maintains formal dress codes and serves as a central gathering place for Mumbai's golfing community through regular tournaments and social events.
The clubhouse is accessible daily from 6:30 AM to 11:00 PM, except Mondays. Advance reservations for tee times are necessary, and visitors should be aware of the formal dress code requirements.
The course record of 63 strokes was set in 2010, demonstrating the challenging nature of the layout. The grounds sit just 25 feet above sea level, which is notably low for a golf facility in the Mumbai region.
