Coal Office
Coal Office is a restaurant in London's Camden area, housed in a former coal storage building near Kings Cross. The space spans three floors and blends raw, industrial textures with contemporary design created by Tom Dixon.
The building originally served as a warehouse for coal used by London's railways. As the Kings Cross and Coal Drops Yard area underwent redevelopment, the building was renovated and opened as a restaurant within the renewed complex.
The restaurant's name reflects its past as a coal storage facility, connecting diners to London's industrial heritage. Visitors experience how this former industrial space now hosts a vibrant community of people gathering to share food and conversation.
The restaurant is located on Bagley Walk near Kings Cross station and is easy to reach on foot. Opening hours vary by day, with lunch available Tuesday to Sunday and dinner most evenings, with extended hours Thursday through Saturday.
The restaurant was among the first to open in the revitalized Coal Drops Yard, helping transform the area into a popular destination. The menu was created by chef Assaf Granit, who previously worked in acclaimed restaurants in Jerusalem.
