Waterpark Park Bešeňová
Waterpark Park Bešeňová is a thermal resort spanning roughly 6 hectares in the western Liptovská valley, offering both indoor and outdoor pools with water slides and wellness facilities. The resort contains 23 pools total, with eight outdoor pools fed year-round by naturally heated geothermal water.
A drilling team discovered geothermal water at roughly 2,000 meters depth with temperatures exceeding 60 degrees Celsius in 1987, leading to the opening of the first pools for visitors in 1993. The resort expanded steadily, adding accommodation and dining buildings starting in 2006 and outdoor pools plus slides beginning in 2008.
The name Bešeňová refers to the natural hot springs that define the village and its character. Today it serves as a gathering place where visitors come to experience the simple pleasure of warm water and relaxation, making it a destination centered on wellness and leisure.
Visitors should arrive early to find good spots and enjoy all water slides before crowds build up. Remember to bring towels, sunglasses, and sunscreen, as changing rooms and lockers are available but additional preparation helps make your time more comfortable.
The water here comes from roughly 2,000 meters deep and is estimated to be around 27,000 years old, rich in minerals like calcium, magnesium, and sulfur. The presence of lithium in the water is experienced by visitors as particularly soothing for emotional well-being.
