Chocolate Museum Vienna "Bo-Yo", Chocolate museum in Margareten, Austria
Chocolate Museum Vienna Bo-Yo is a museum on Schönbrunner Straße in the Margareten district of Vienna, dedicated entirely to chocolate making. It features working chocolate fountains, large sculpted pieces near the entrance, and hands-on stations where visitors can try making chocolate themselves.
The museum first opened in 2018 in the Prater area and moved to its current location on Schönbrunner Straße in 2022. It was founded by Jovana and Bojan Misaljevic, who built it around the craft of chocolate making from the beginning.
The name Bo-Yo comes from the nicknames of the two founders, which gives the place a personal feel from the start. Visitors are invited to take part rather than just observe, which sets it apart from a typical museum visit.
Booking a workshop spot in advance is a good idea, as sessions tend to fill up quickly and run throughout the week. The museum is easy to reach by tram since Schönbrunner Straße is served by a main tram line running through Vienna.
The large chocolate sculptures near the entrance were moved from the original Prater location rather than made for the current space. Transporting them without damage was itself a demanding task that required careful handling of the material.
