Broughty Castle Museum, Military history museum in Broughty Ferry, Scotland
The museum occupies a four-floor tower house built in 1490, situated on a rocky promontory at the mouth of the River Tay.
The castle changed hands multiple times between English and Scottish forces during the 16th century War of the Rough Wooing period.
The museum exhibits display local artworks from the Orchar Collection alongside artifacts representing the maritime heritage of Broughty Ferry.
The museum opens Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00 and Sundays from 12:30 to 16:00, with free admission for all visitors.
The castle observation post allows visitors to view dolphins swimming in the Tay estuary while examining the strategic positioning of this coastal fortification.
