Kura Sushi
Kura Sushi is a sushi restaurant in Sumida-ku with a moving conveyor belt system that carries plates of food past diners who select items as they pass by. The space is open and bright with colorful lighting on the walls and offers seating at counters and tables for different visitor groups.
Kura Sushi started many years ago in Japan as one of the first restaurants to introduce the conveyor belt concept for sushi service. The concept evolved into a restaurant chain now found in Japan, Taiwan, and the United States while maintaining its focus on fresh ingredients and quick service.
Kura Sushi embodies a modern Japanese approach to dining: the moving conveyor belt lets anyone pick what appeals to them at a glance and watch what others choose. This open way of eating creates a casual shared experience where different generations and visitor groups sit side by side and enjoy sushi together.
The restaurant is near Oshiage station and easy to reach by train or walking from the Tokyo Skytree area but offers no parking. Operating hours run from late morning to late evening, allowing visitors to drop by flexibly whether during the day or in the evening.
The main location near Tokyo Skytree is notably large and houses playful elements across two floors including the BIKKURA PON! DX pachinko game on the ground floor and the digital BIKKURA GYO game on the second floor. These integrated games and gashapon toy vending machines give visitors additional entertainment options while they enjoy their sushi.
