Illusion Brussels, Interactive illusion museum in central Brussels, Belgium
The museum is an interactive collection of more than 60 optical installations in central Brussels. The rooms combine playful experiments with scientific principles to show how our eyesight works and where it misleads us.
The museum opened in October 2021 and joined an international network of similar venues worldwide. It aims to bring scientific concepts to visitors in an entertaining way.
The exhibits show how eyes and brain work together to make sense of the world around us. Visitors experience firsthand how easily our perception can be fooled.
The museum is located near De Brouckère station and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors should allow at least one hour to try the different rooms and experiments.
The rooms are specially designed so visitors can photograph themselves with distorted perspective that creates impossible scenes. These photo spots are often the most popular places in the museum and show how much our brain can be surprised by optical tricks.
