Tavern of the Two Maries
Tavern of the Two Maries is a restaurant in historic Český Krumlov housed in a building dating to the late medieval period. The structure displays a blend of baroque exterior and older layers beneath, including a thick original fortification wall still visible inside.
The building was constructed in the late Middle Ages between two town walls in the interior town area. During 1950 restoration work, two wall paintings of the Virgin Mary were discovered on the facade, with one dating to 1714 and another to the second half of the 1700s.
