Renchtalhütte, Mountain restaurant in Bad Peterstal-Griesbach, Germany.
The Renchtalhütte sits on a hillside with views across the Renchtal valley and the Black Forest mountains. The building has a dining room with large windows, a smaller sitting area, and a terrace overlooking the valley.
The original building was destroyed by fire in 2001. Reconstruction used timber from a 200-year-old farmhouse and traditional shingle roofing methods from the Black Forest region.
The restaurant serves regional dishes with influences from Germany and Alsace, including homemade Maultaschen dumplings and the classic Baeckeoffe stew. The menu reflects the food culture that has lived in this border region for generations.
The restaurant sits on a hiking trail and is reachable on foot or by car via a winding road. The drive takes a few minutes from the village, and there is ample parking in front of the building.
Every Wednesday evening the restaurant hosts Hüttenhock, a four-course dinner with accordion music and traditional entertainment. This evening regularly draws locals and visitors seeking to experience the typical Black Forest atmosphere.
