Bremerhof
Bremerhof is a hotel and restaurant on the southern edge of Kaiserslautern, nestled in the green surroundings of the Palatinate Forest. The property includes a main restaurant with a large terrace for about 800 people, a second restaurant called Waldhaus, rooms for overnight stays, a playground, a boules court, and an enclosure with goats, cows, and horses.
The oldest building at Bremerhof, called the Farmers Room, dates back to the 1760s and shows the long tradition as a farmstead. The property was expanded in the early 1800s and again in the late 1800s, gradually developing from a purely agricultural site into a place of hospitality.
The name Bremerhof comes from its past as a farm and reflects the rural tradition of the region. Today, visitors use the place to gather in a quiet, natural setting and celebrate local customs such as the Maibock festival in spring.
Bremerhof is easy to reach with ample free parking on site and good walking paths, especially for visitors coming from the nearby hiking region of the Palatinate Forest. The property is open daily from around 11 a.m. and closed on December 24, with the terrace ideal for longer stays in good weather.
Bremerhof is known for attracting many American visitors, especially USO groups who come twice weekly and use the property as a welcomed local spot. This characteristic has created a unique connection between the local German hospitality and American guests over the years.
