Côté Mer, French restaurant in Cancale, France
Côté Mer is a seafood restaurant in Cancale where the kitchen works with fresh ingredients sourced directly from Brittany's fishing grounds and oyster beds. The menu changes with the seasons and what is available from local suppliers on any given day.
The restaurant opened in 2022 when Aurore and Hervé Mousset, both trained at the Maurice Marland Hotel School in Granville, decided to establish their own place. Their background in hospitality guided the way they set up their dining space and approach to service.
The restaurant incorporates maritime elements in its design and menu selections, reflecting the deep connection between Cancale and its fishing heritage.
The place opens from Tuesday to Saturday in the evening and accepts reservations, which are recommended since seating is limited. The dining space is small and cozy, so booking ahead gives you the best chance of securing a table.
The wine selection features around 200 different bottles carefully chosen to pair with the seafood dishes on offer. From your table, you can look out toward Cancale's harbor and on clear days, even see Mont Saint Michel in the distance.
