Hermann Park, Urban park in Houston, United States

Hermann Park is an urban park at the southern end of the Museum District featuring gardens, lakes, and recreational spaces. The grounds include walking paths, picnic areas, and facilities for various outdoor activities and family entertainment.

George Hermann donated the land to the City of Houston in 1914, creating what became a central public green space. Since its founding, the park has grown to serve as a major recreational destination for the city.

The Miller Outdoor Theatre hosts performances year-round and provides free entertainment for the community. You can catch local musicians and theater groups performing in this open-air venue throughout the seasons.

The park is open daily from early morning until late evening and is easily accessible via the METRORail Red Line. The Hermann Park/Rice University station provides direct access to the grounds.

The golf course made history in 1954 by being one of the first public golf facilities in the United States to welcome all players regardless of background. This decision was a significant step forward for equality in sports and remains an important part of the park's story.
