La Lagune, Buffet restaurant in Cheyres-Châbles, Switzerland.
La Lagune sits on the shore of Lake Neuchâtel with both indoor and outdoor spaces overlooking the water, positioned between Estavayer-le-Lac and Yverdon-les-Bains. The restaurant opens directly onto the lakeside, with green areas surrounding the building on this waterfront location.
The restaurant opened in summer 2003 following two years of planning and construction led by architects from Estavayer-le-Lac. Philippe Gendre's vision shaped the original concept and how the place was designed.
The kitchen brings together cooks from Martinique, the Dominican Republic, and Peru who prepare food based on recipes and techniques from their home regions. Their presence shapes what appears on the menu and how dishes are made.
The restaurant operates on a seasonal schedule that changes from October to March compared to April to September. Check the specific hours before you go, as operating times vary depending on the time of year.
The restaurant has a private port where visitors can arrive by boat, making it one of the few dining spots in the area accessible from the water. Inside, decorative pieces from Thailand, Burma, China, and African countries fill the spaces, creating an unexpected visual experience.
