Barnasud, Shopping mall in Gavà, Spain
Barnasud is a shopping center in Gavà with two main levels and a basement containing about 34,000 square meters of retail space, hosting major chains like Carrefour, MediaMarkt, and Cinesa cinemas. The facility offers wheelchair accessibility throughout and provides 2,450 parking spaces.
The center was founded in 1995 by Cabrabo and later came under the control of Unibail-Rodamco, which took ownership in 2002. Major upgrades to the facilities took place in 2004 and 2010 to improve the shopping experience.
The shopping center regularly partners with local animal welfare groups to hold collection drives that benefit regional shelters and rescue operations. These community-focused events reflect how the space serves purposes beyond retail, connecting shoppers to social causes.
The shopping center is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 to 21:00, with full wheelchair accessibility throughout the premises. On-site parking makes it convenient for visitors arriving by car, and the layout is easy to navigate.
Meridia Capital Partners acquired the center in 2017, investing seven million euros in improvements as their first retail purchase in the Barcelona area. This ownership change brought fresh momentum to the site's modernization and expansion efforts.
