Kents Cavern, Archaeological museum and cave system in Torbay, England.
The extensive limestone cave network contains passages adorned with mineral formations, including stalagmites and stalactites formed over 400 million years.
Archaeological excavations in 1927 revealed a human jawbone fragment dated between 41,000 and 44,000 years old, making it the oldest modern human remain in Northwest Europe.
The cave system holds evidence of multiple ancient human populations, with inscriptions from 1571 and 1688 marking early documented explorations of the site.
The site features guided tours through underground chambers, a cafe serving local Devon specialties, and outdoor activities including a woodland trail.
The cave walls preserve Ice Age animal remains, including a cave bear leg bone embedded in the rock formation.
