L'Empire Bordeaux, Restaurant in Saint-Pierre district, Bordeaux, France
L'Empire Bordeaux is a restaurant in the Saint-Pierre district, housed in a transformed historic building with a mosaic bar and exposed stone walls. The interior displays an open design where the original structure of the space remains visible throughout.
The building functioned as Napoleonic stables during the 17th century and preserves a ceiling structure resembling Gustave Eiffel's architectural approach. This original framework was retained when the space was converted into a restaurant.
The restaurant draws on local French cooking and serves tapas alongside cocktails made from regional organic spirits and wines. Diners experience dishes and drinks that reflect the flavor traditions of the Bordeaux region.
The restaurant opens Wednesday through Saturday from 7 PM, accepting food orders until 10:30 PM. Visitors should arrive earlier in the evening if they prefer full meals, as later hours tend to focus on drinks and lighter options.
Since 2021, the restaurant has produced its own line of organic spirits including gin, vodka, rum, and cognac with local producers. These handcrafted drinks are available exclusively on site and frequently feature in the cocktails served.
