Muzeum Kultury Ludowej

Muzeum Kultury Ludowej is an open-air museum that spreads across large grounds with about 80 wooden buildings displaying traditional rural architecture from southeastern Poland. The structures show how people constructed and arranged their homes in this region.

The museum was founded in 1959 to preserve the region's rural heritage and later became a government institution. This shift helped it grow and reach a wider audience over time.

The museum reflects the traditions of the Lasowiacy and Rzeszowiacy communities through displays of clothing, pottery, and tools that reveal how rural people lived and worked. Visitors experience the ways these groups organized their daily lives and valued their crafts.

The grounds are best explored on foot, and comfortable shoes are recommended since paths are unpaved in many areas. Plan to spend several hours to see the different buildings and exhibits at a relaxed pace.

The museum maintains working beehives and raises farm animals that demonstrate how people historically practiced agriculture in the region. These living elements make the visit more immersive and set it apart from typical indoor museums.
