Mindways 3D Trick Art, Interactive museum in Hamburg-Nord, Germany
Mindways 3D Trick Art is a museum featuring optical illusions and three-dimensional paintings spread across two floors. Visitors can step directly into the artworks and photograph themselves using perspective tricks.
The museum opened in July 2024 and introduced Hamburg's audience to the creative works of Japanese artist Masashi Hattori. This artist has already created over 200 installations worldwide.
The artworks here play with perception and invite visitors to experiment with camera angles and body positioning. This turns each room into a space where art and personal creativity meet.
The rooms are designed so you can move freely and try different angles without needing special equipment. A camera or smartphone is all you need to capture the best photos.
Some rooms use mirror tricks and Ames illusions that completely change how you perceive space. There are also virtual reality experiences that simulate roller coaster rides, though with warnings for sensitive visitors.
