La Mar Salá
La Mar Salá is a restaurant in the old town of Peñíscola, located at the foot of the castle on Plaza Antonelli. It serves Mediterranean cuisine with a speciality in grilled dishes, using fresh fish from the port and meat from nearby farms, and offers seating both indoors and on a terrace overlooking the harbour.
The restaurant is part of Peñíscola's traditional food culture, deeply rooted in the Mediterranean port and its fishing communities. Its dishes reflect local cooking techniques and regional ingredients that have been used in this coastal area for generations.
The restaurant is easily accessible on foot from the city centre and has parking nearby, about 200 metres away in the Voramar area. Reservations are possible and recommended, especially on weekends and during peak season, to secure a table.
The restaurant uses different charcoal types from different countries: coal from Extremadura, Cuba and Argentina, which give each grilled and fish dish unique flavour notes. The meat comes from a small family farm in the Aragonese Pyrenees, where cattle graze on pasture.
