Royal Armouries: Fort Nelson

Fort Nelson is a military museum in Portsmouth set on grounds with underground tunnels and raised ramparts. The collection displays artillery and cannons from many countries across different time periods, ranging from older to modern designs.

The fort was built in the 1800s to protect Portsmouth and the region from potential French attacks. It formed part of a larger defensive system and played an important role in the strategic planning of that era.
