René de Cossé purchased the estate in 1502, establishing a continuous family lineage that extends to the current 13th Duke of Brissac.
The castle features a Belle Époque theater with ornate decorations, gilded ceilings, and historical portraits classified as National Monuments.
Visitors can access the castle daily except Tuesdays, with adult admission at 11 euros and reduced rates for students and children.
The tallest castle in the Loire Valley contains an underground water system and offers wine tastings from its own cellars.
