Embassy Gallery, Restaurant in Sector 1, Bucharest, Romania
Embassy Gallery is a restaurant on two floors inside the National Theatre of Bucharest building, with its entrance on Tudor Arghezi Street near the performers' entrance. The space is divided into several dining areas arranged around a central bar, and can seat around 350 people in total.
The building that houses the restaurant was constructed in 1860 and has been home to the National Theatre of Bucharest ever since. The restaurant opened in 2008 and kept the original architectural character of the space intact.
The menu draws on Mediterranean cooking and Romanian flavors, shaped by chef Angelo Grasso. Steaks and carefully made burgers are at the center of what is served here.
The restaurant is close to Piata Universitatii metro station and is also served by several bus and trolleybus lines. The entrance is on Tudor Arghezi Street, which is worth knowing on a first visit.
Although the restaurant sits inside a theatre building, it has its own entrance and can be visited independently of any performance. Many guests only realize once inside that they are in one of the city's most recognized cultural buildings.
