La Cabaña del Bosque, Casa de Té & Tea Shop, Tea house and restaurant in Bosque Peralta Ramos, Mar del Plata, Argentina.
La Cabaña del Bosque, also known as Casa de Té, is a wooden cabin-style restaurant set inside a forested area of Mar del Plata, Argentina. It sits along a path lined with old trees, ornamental ponds, and iron details, and serves teas, pastries, cakes, and cooked dishes.
Sonia De Francisco opened this place more than 35 years ago together with her sister Griselda and her husband Coco Moran. From the beginning it also served as a gathering point where children's book readings and storytelling were a regular part of the program.
The teaware on display comes from countries such as England, China, Japan, Belgium, and France, and each table is set with a different service. Visitors can see at a glance how different parts of the world approach the same simple ritual.
The place opens during daylight hours and closes at dusk, so the visit is shaped by natural light filtering through the trees. Coming on a weekday afternoon tends to be quieter than weekend mornings, when the tables fill up faster.
The menu goes beyond classic blends and includes options such as rooibos with vanilla and elderberries, sitting alongside English Breakfast and Green Apple varieties. These less common teas are served with the same care as the more familiar ones, without any special fuss.
