Plaža Baška

Plaža Baška is a pebble beach on Croatia's Adriatic coast that stretches about 1800 meters along the shoreline and is framed by mountain ridges. The beach features gently sloping sections, on-site dining and water sports options, plus changing facilities for visitors.

The beach sits in a region settled since ancient times, as evidenced by remains of a Roman settlement and an early Christian basilica. The island of Krk became an important part of the medieval Croatian realm and its ongoing cultural development.

The name comes from Slavic roots meaning 'bath' or 'bay', reflecting its role as a gathering place. Locals and visitors use the shore for swimming and leisure throughout the summer season.

The beach is easily accessible and features calmer sections for beginners alongside deeper zones for confident swimmers. The best time to visit is from June to September when the water reaches comfortable temperatures.

Near the beach sits the Glagolitic Path featuring 34 stone sculptures carved with medieval Slavic letters representing Croatia's writing heritage. This pathway weaves history with nature and offers insight into an important piece of cultural identity.
