Uvala Lapad

The Lapad area became a retreat for nobility of the Republic of Ragusa during the 15th century, who built summer homes here to escape the walled city. This early development established the location as a favored residential zone beyond the fortified walls.

The beach draws locals who gather to play picigin, a traditional ball game played in shallow water that has been popular here for generations. Visitors often see groups enjoying this social activity along the shoreline during warmer months.

The beach offers showers, changing facilities, and rentals for sunbeds and umbrellas if you need shade or comfort while swimming. Several restaurants and cafes line the waterfront, making it easy to find food and refreshment.

The clear waters of the bay reveal sunset views across the Adriatic with the Elaphite Islands visible on the horizon. On clear days, the island silhouettes stand out distinctly from this vantage point.
