Cala del Corralete

Cala del Corralete is a small beach near Níjar with fine, light-colored sand and natural surroundings of rock formations and low cliffs. It stretches about 50 meters along the coast and offers clear, calm water suitable for swimming, set within an undeveloped landscape near the Cabo de Gata lighthouse.

The area around Cala del Corralete has long been used for fishing and small boats but never developed into anything larger. The lighthouse was built many years ago to serve as a navigation aid for passing ships, reflecting the maritime character of this coastal section.

The beach is mainly used by visitors for relaxation and quiet moments, particularly for watching sunsets over the sea. The nearby lighthouse is a key local landmark and connects the area to maritime heritage that remains visible in daily life.

The beach is accessible by car via a narrow road with parking nearby and remains much less crowded than other beaches, especially outside peak season. Bring all necessary supplies like water and food since there are no shops or facilities on-site, and supervision is needed if children are present.

The site is known for its spectacular sunsets when the sky lights up in warm colors and creates long reflections across the water. A nearby bar on the opposite side of the road is regularly visited by locals and travelers, especially in late afternoon when light casts the rocks in warm, golden tones.
