Praia de Moledo is a sandy beach on the northern coast of Portugal, in the parish of Moledo e Cristelo, facing the open Atlantic. From the shoreline, visitors can see the Santa Tecla Mountain rising to the north and the small Insua Island sitting just offshore.
In the early 1900s, this beach began to attract well-known Portuguese families who came to spend the summer by the sea. Their visits helped the surrounding area grow into a recognized coastal destination.

The small island visible from the shore, Insua, holds a fortress that started out as a convent in the 15th century before being converted into a coastal defense post. Very few visitors standing on the beach are aware that what looks like a military structure was once a place of religious life.
