Holyrood Distillery is a whisky distillery housed in a converted railway building near Holyrood Park in Edinburgh. The facility operates two copper stills and produces both whisky and gin annually for visitors to experience.
The distillery opened in 2019 as Edinburgh's first single malt whisky producer in the city center, ending over a century without active production. This revival returned a craft tradition that had vanished from the city.
The distillery draws inspiration from Scottish distilling heritage and local ingredients to shape its spirit production today.
The distillery welcomes visitors daily from mid-morning, offering guided tours through both whisky and gin production with different experience levels. Plan time for a shop and bar where you can taste products before or after your tour.
After four years of production, the distillery released its first single malt whisky in 2023, marking a major milestone from production to bottle. Visitors can see and taste a spirit born from the entire journey of the facility.
