Golf Club des Iles Borromées is an 18-hole golf course in Stresa, situated on the peninsula overlooking Lake Maggiore. The layout spans approximately 6,100 meters (20,000 feet) at an elevation of around 500 meters (1,640 feet) above sea level.
This course was established in 1957 and became a significant sports facility in the Lake Maggiore region. It has drawn international players since its opening and remains part of the area's sporting heritage.
The course blends with its surroundings on the Borromean Islands peninsula, respecting the natural terrain that characterizes this region. Players experience the landscape of Lake Maggiore as an integral part of their visit.
The course welcomes players daily from April through October, with limited operations during winter months. It closes completely in January and has restricted access on Mondays outside the main season.
From the 18th tee, golfers can see four lakes at once: Maggiore, Varese, Monate, and Comabbio. On clear days, the Milan skyline appears visible on the distant horizon.
