The Reptilarium du Larzac is a reptile zoo located in Sainte-Eulalie-de-Cernon, in the Larzac plateau area of southern France, and it houses snakes, turtles, lizards, and crocodiles. The animals are kept in purpose-built enclosures spread across both indoor and outdoor sections of the site.
The Reptilarium opened in the early 2000s as a space dedicated to cold-blooded animals in the Larzac area. It was set up at a time when public interest in reptile keeping and conservation was growing across France.
The facility is known for its daily feeding sessions, where visitors can watch snakes, crocodiles, and other reptiles catch their food in real time. These moments show the natural behavior of the animals in a direct and accessible way.
The paths across the site are flat and easy to walk, so all enclosures can be reached without difficulty. A light jacket or rain cover is worth bringing since some sections are open to the sky and can feel cooler or wetter in bad weather.
Some of the pythons kept here are among the heaviest of their kind to be seen in Europe, far larger than most zoo visitors expect. The site also has a dedicated nursery area for newly hatched reptiles, where visitors can observe the animals in the first weeks of their lives.
