La Ferme aux Cerfs

La Ferme aux Cerfs is a wildlife park in Le Houga with several hundred animals living in natural habitats. Walking paths connect different sections, allowing visitors to observe deer, fallow deer, and wild boars up close.

The site grew out of traditional Gascon agriculture into a modern wildlife center. This shift shows how the region has adapted its farming heritage while taking on new purposes.

The name refers to its role as a deer farm, reflecting the area's traditional connection to animal husbandry. Visitors observe daily scenes: deer grazing in open meadows while wild boars roam through forested sections.

The park welcomes visitors from February through December on Tuesday to Sunday. Good walking shoes are important since paths cross natural terrain and weather can affect ground conditions.

Throughout the year visitors can watch natural animal behaviors rarely seen elsewhere, particularly when deer experience their mating season or when fawns are born in summer. These moments offer chances to observe wild instincts playing out in a managed setting.
