Parc Animalier d'Écouves

Parc Animalier d'Écouves is a wildlife reserve set within the Écouves forest, home to approximately 450 animals across roughly 45 species. The grounds feature enclosures for savanna dwellers, European forest animals, and exotic species from other continents.

Established in 1989, the reserve was created to protect and breed endangered French animal breeds. It has since grown into a sanctuary for various species facing pressure in the wild.

The park serves as a refuge for animals that have become rare in the wild across Europe and beyond. You can watch how keepers interact with the residents and gain insight into their daily needs and behaviors.

The grounds are easily walkable with marked paths leading through the various enclosures and mostly level terrain. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and bring rain protection for bad weather, as most of the experience is outdoors.

The reserve offers a keeper experience where visitors spend three hours working alongside staff members caring for animals hands-on. This direct involvement gives insight into the daily work and challenges of animal care in a professional setting.
