Z'animoland

Z'animoland is an animal park in Monbalen spread over approximately 12 hectares of forest and meadows, housing around 150 animals distributed across roughly 30 different enclosures. The animals come from Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia and are scattered throughout the grounds.

The park was founded in 2006 when Isabelle and Jerome Maurette transformed an abandoned prehistoric park in Fontirou into a modern animal sanctuary. This project marked a major shift in their careers as they pursued their vision.

The park displays animals from different continents and allows visitors to learn about wildlife diversity through direct observation. This focus on education and discovery shapes the visit and makes it more than just a walk through nature.

The park is open daily and visitors can explore the grounds independently, with enclosures easily accessible throughout the property. At various spots you can feed certain animals, making the experience more interactive and engaging.

The park houses a group of 10 tigers cared for through the Mohan association, which specializes in providing sanctuary for former circus animals. These rescued animals form a remarkable part of the collection and carry their own stories.
