Le Jardin des Bêtes

Le Jardin des Bêtes is a zoo and amusement park spread across gardens containing around 250 animals, including guinea pigs, rabbits, goats, pigs, fennecs, llamas, and several parrot species. The grounds combine animal enclosures with a miniature village display featuring automated traditional scenes.

The site began as a local animal sanctuary and gradually expanded into a combined zoo and amusement facility to serve regional entertainment needs. This evolution reflects how it adapted to growing visitor interest over time.

The miniature village within the park displays traditional stone houses that reflect how people lived in the Aveyron region. Walking through these scenes gives visitors a sense of local building styles and community life from the past.

The park is best experienced when you have time to observe the animals closely and wander through the miniature village displays at your own pace. Comfortable walking shoes and weather protection are recommended since most of the visit takes place outdoors.

Visitors have the opportunity to join a zookeeper experience program that provides behind-the-scenes access to animal care routines. This hands-on experience allows people to see how daily care is actually performed.
