Old Macdonald Farm, Educational farm park in Brentwood, England
Old Macdonald Farm is a farm park in Brentwood housing more than 30 animal species, including meerkats, wallabies, pigs, rabbits, ponies, and cows. Visitors can interact directly with the animals throughout the site.
The farm started as a traditional agricultural operation and was later converted into an educational center for children. This transformation allowed families to connect with farming practices.
The farm offers school groups learning programs where children care for animals and discover agricultural work firsthand. This hands-on experience helps young visitors understand the connection between nature and everyday life.
The site remains open year-round with extended hours from April to September and shorter hours from October to March. Indoor play areas with soft play equipment provide shelter during poor weather.
An area called Battle Barn contains soft play cannons for creative games. A separate indoor ball pool area provides additional options for different age groups.
