Zoo Łączna, Zoo in Łączna, Poland
Zoo Łączna is an animal park in the village of Łączna, in southern Poland, set between the Kamienne and Stołowe Mountains near Szczytna. The grounds cover meadows, wooded areas, and a range of enclosures where animals from many parts of the world can be seen.
The park opened in 2006 starting with small animals like guinea pigs and canaries, then gradually expanded to include larger species such as lions and tigers. Over time it grew from a modest animal collection into a full zoo with a wide range of enclosures.
The zoo draws families from across the region who come to see animals in open, natural-style enclosures set among hills and trees. The big cat area, with lions and tigers, tends to attract the most attention from visitors.
The grounds are explored on foot, so sturdy shoes are a good idea, especially after rain when some paths can get muddy. Summer tends to be the busiest season, while a visit in autumn offers a calmer experience with fewer crowds.
The Mountain Safari section, which opened in 2022, lets visitors walk through an open area where animals roam in a setting shaped by the surrounding hills. This format is still rare in Poland and sets the park apart from more conventional zoos in the country.
