Monte Selvagem

Monte Selvagem extends across 20 hectares of Alentejo landscape, housing 300 animals from 70 different species in natural-style enclosures and habitats.

The park began as a family project and received multiple recognitions, including the More Tourism Award in 2010 and Best Tourism Animation Enterprise of Alentejo in 2012.

The park collaborates with international zoos, scientific institutions, local communities, and government agencies to maintain viable populations in natural ecosystems.

Opening hours change seasonally, with extended hours from May to September between 10:00 and 19:00, while winter months allow visits for groups of 20 or more.

The facility exclusively houses animals confiscated by authorities or transferred from other parks, maintaining a strong commitment to environmental sustainability principles.
