Dinopark Funtana, Theme park in Funtana, Croatia
Dinopark Funtana is a theme park in Funtana, a small coastal town in Istria, Croatia. Set within a wooded area between Poreč and Vrsar, it combines rides, life-sized dinosaur replicas, live shows in a covered arena, and a dedicated museum section.
The park was developed to support tourism along the Istrian coast and grew over the years from a simple dinosaur-themed outdoor trail into a full leisure destination. New rides and shows were added progressively, expanding what was originally a walking path with life-sized figures.
In one section of the park, children can dig for fossil replicas in a hands-on area that mimics real paleontological work. This turns the dinosaur theme into something children can physically explore rather than just observe.
The park is open from April to November, so a visit fits naturally into a summer or early autumn trip to Istria. The grounds are spread across a wooded area, so comfortable shoes and enough time to walk between sections are worth planning for.
A small train called the Flint Stone Train runs through the park, allowing visitors to ride between sections rather than walking the entire route. This makes it easier to pace a visit with young children or anyone who wants a break between activities.
