Parc de Loisirs des Grottes de Champ Retard

The Parc de Loisirs des Grottes de Champ Retard is an adventure park built inside a former limestone quarry, offering multiple courses with rope bridges and climbing walls. The natural cave structure provides shelter and creates an unusual setting for physical activities.

The site operated as a limestone quarry from medieval times until the early 20th century, when stone extraction came to an end. The former mining location was later transformed into an adventure park in the 2000s.

The site reflects how stone workers once labored inside these caves, showing visitors the traces of traditional quarrying methods that shaped the region. You can see where tools marked the stone and sense the industrial past through the landscape itself.

Most activities take place under natural rock shelters, so the park remains usable even during rain and visitors stay protected from the weather. The terrain is uneven, so visitors should wear sturdy shoes and be in reasonable physical condition.

The park offers night adventures with specially designed illuminated courses that transform the cave experience into something completely different. These evening sessions reveal the grotto in ways that daylight visits cannot replicate.
