The Labyrinthe de Merville features Europe's largest boxwood maze covering 5 hectares with six kilometers of sculpted hedges, dead ends, and circular clearings designed for entertainment and contemplation.
Created in the 18th century by the Marquis de Chalvet, the labyrinth and château survived the French Revolution intact, preserving original furnishings, interior decorations, and garden layout from 1743.
The park presents Tales & Legends themed experiences for families, featuring puzzles based on stories like Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, and The Lion King with interactive engagement opportunities.
The attraction opens seasonally from April through October with guided château tours at 11:30 am, 2 pm, 3:30 pm, and 5 pm, requiring advance reservations due to limited availability.
During Easter weekend, approximately 50,000 chocolate eggs are hidden throughout the maze pathways, creating an innovative family event that combines traditional Easter celebrations with puzzle-solving adventure.
