Parc Médiéval de Salva Terra

Parc Médiéval de Salva Terra is a theme park featuring a reconstructed fortified medieval city in Haute-Rivoire. The grounds display wooden ramparts and buildings that show how people lived, worked, and defended themselves during that era.

The park was founded to bring visitors closer to how people lived in earlier centuries. Through reenactments and hands-on experiences, it seeks to make history tangible and show connections to our ancestors.

The site is run by enthusiasts who weave medieval combat techniques and storytelling into daily activities. Visitors encounter crafts and old skills that are practiced throughout the year.

The park is located roughly 45 minutes from the cities of Lyon and Saint-Étienne and operates from April through October. Visitors should prepare for outdoor activities and allow enough time to experience the various stations and demonstrations throughout the grounds.

Beyond the fortified buildings, there is a specialized training ground outside the walls where visitors can watch horse-riding techniques and old fighting methods. These outdoor areas display practical skills that were needed for daily life and combat.
