Pont des Places, Natural campground near Onde River in Vallouise, France
Pont des Places is a campground situated on gravel and grass terrain alongside the Onde River in the French Alps. Mountain peaks encircle the grounds, creating a natural landscape frame.
The campground was established in the 1970s as part of regional expansion of outdoor recreational facilities in the Hautes-Alpes. This growth reflected increased interest in alpine leisure activities.
The site connects visitors with local alpine traditions through its location near mountain paths historically used by shepherds throughout the region.
The site offers 25 spacious pitches equipped with sanitation facilities and cold water access. Operations run from mid-June through late August, giving visitors a clear timeframe for planning.
Each pitch sits within reach of the Onde River, letting campers hear the water and watch wildlife in the surrounding mountains. This closeness to the river creates an immediate sense of immersion in nature.
