Camping le Lavedan, Campground in Guchen, France.
Camping le Lavedan is a campsite with 81 pitches located at 750 meters elevation in the Aure Valley with views of Pyrenean peaks. The grounds include sanitary facilities and are surrounded by mountain slopes and open pastures.
The campsite developed near Saint-Lary-Soulan, which became a thermal resort during the 19th century. This thermal development brought tourism to the region and opened the Aure Valley to visitors.
The valley holds mountain chapels and rural traditions that shape daily life in the area. You will see these influences reflected in nearby villages and how people interact with the surrounding landscape.
The site sits on a mountain road and is best reached by car, as no public transit goes directly to the location. Use of the grounds is possible from mid-June through mid-September when weather is stable and hiking trails in the area are accessible.
The grounds sit just 200 meters from the Neste d'Aure river, making it appealing for anglers and water sports fans. The nearby river also offers opportunities for wildlife watching and quiet moments by the water.
