Le Sable d'Or, Beachfront campground in Le Barcarès, France.
Le Sable d'Or is a beachfront campground between Port Barcarès and Port Leucate, spreading across a wooded park with diverse trees near the Mediterranean. The facility offers 180 pitches, ten rental units, a swimming pool, mini-market, restaurant, and laundry services.
The site developed next to Le Lydia, a former ocean liner permanently beached in 1967. This vessel tells the maritime story of Le Barcarès and connects the camping area to the town's coastal past.
The site hosts regular summer entertainment featuring local music and regional food tastings that showcase local traditions. Visitors experience authentic customs and flavors of the area during their stay.
The campground operates from April through October and provides good parking facilities with walkable paths throughout the grounds. Most amenities and services are centrally located and accessible on foot.
The camping area sits at the boundary of two distinct water environments: the Mediterranean Sea and the Salses saltwater lake. Visitors can experience both open sea and calm brackish waters during their stay.
