Camping de la Baie, Coastal campground in Assérac, France
Camping de la Baie is a campground with 138 pitches on grassy terrain near the beaches of the Bay of Biscay. The facility sits about 600 meters (1,950 feet) from the coast and provides individual sanitary facilities per pitch plus a heated indoor pool during the season.
The campsite developed near the ancient salt marshes of Guérande, where salt extraction has taken place since the Iron Age. This deep connection to salt production continues to shape the landscape and local heritage of the region.
The area around the campground reflects Breton traditions that come alive during summer events featuring local music and food from the region. Visitors can experience how people here celebrate their heritage through these gatherings.
The campground is relatively flat and easy to navigate on foot, with clear signs marking all areas and facilities. Upon arrival, visitors receive a layout map to get oriented quickly.
Some mobile homes offer direct views over the Bay of Pont-Mahé, where traditional fishing boats depart each morning. This rare sight shows working artisanal fishing still in action before the day grows busy.
