La Belle Folie, Woodland campground in Ploemel, France.
La Belle Folie is a campground set on a wooded site that offers various accommodation types, from suspended hammocks to wooden cabins. The sleeping units were designed by architecture students from Nantes and incorporate sustainable materials with innovative construction methods.
The campground was established in 2019 near the ancient stone Alignements of Carnac and transformed a natural woodland area into alternative lodging. The founding followed a modern approach to use this Breton landscape in a new way.
The site hosts regular concerts and children's performances in its greenhouse, where visitors can discover local craft traditions and agricultural practices. These gatherings connect people with the distinctive character of Breton life in a direct way.
The site is located around 250 meters from Rond de Kergroix with direct access to nearby craft shops and bakeries. The campground operates year-round with flexible check-in options to accommodate different arrival times.
The sleeping units were designed by architecture students from the University of Nantes, giving the site an unusual experimental character. This student involvement produced creative and unconventional living solutions that differ from typical campground structures.
