Les jardins de l'océan, Campground in Les Mathes, France.
Les Jardins de l'Océan is a campground with 30 designated spaces for tents and motorhomes in a tree-shaded park close to the Atlantic coast. The site includes both open grassy areas and shaded spots beneath trees for different camping preferences.
The property was purchased in 1977 as an organic vegetable farm and later converted to a bed and breakfast in 2001. It became a campground in 2017, marking its current purpose.
The place brings together French and German hospitality traditions shaped by owners Catherine and Ansgar, who welcome guests in multiple languages and create a welcoming environment across cultural backgrounds.
The campground operates from April through October, with check-in available between 12:00 and 21:30. Dedicated areas for cyclists and hikers make it easy to find suitable spots based on your activity plans.
All 30 camping spots include access to electric vehicle charging stations, reflecting an eco-conscious approach to accommodation. This forward-thinking amenity shows how the site adapts to modern travel needs.
